This is Spinal Poetry

Since April is National Poetry Month, the Western Mass Writing Project’s Ning has several discussions to prompt its members to write poetry.  This one, book binding poems, was my favorite.  Ironically, minutes before following this discussion thread I viewed a video on Teacher Tube of students reading their own book spine poems.

So here’s my hand at it.

Fight Club
The Awakening & The Sting
in Too Loud A Solitude
words become Everything
and Nothing
The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
A Lesson Before Dying?
Loser Goes First
Teach Us To Outgrow Our Madness
